MAKING of a FESTIVAL

MAKING of a FESTIVAL

Jill Fuller is getting making her Christmas wishes come true early.
Fuller, who spent summers on a houseboat on Lake Sakakawea, and the school years in Minot, is in her first full year as a rural Garrison resident.
In just a short time she made herself a part of several committees, most notably volunteering recently to help decorate for the Dickens Village Festival, which begins Friday.
“I thought I hit the jackpot,” she said. “I love decorating and I retired and I thought what better than to move to a town that has a Christmas festival.”
Fuller is among the many volunteers that make the event.
“I’ve gotten roped in pretty well,” she said, but it’s obvious she can tell she is loving every minute. As she decorated more than a half dozen trees for the Dickens Store at 1 North Main, the auditorium and the Senior Center, it was difficult to see her without decorations in her hands and a smile on her face.
McKaila Matteson, Convention and Visitors Bureau director, said, “I think she does a tree a day. I’m glad we have her on board.”
