McLean County residents found themselves buried under up to 10 inches of snow this weekend as a storm interrupted the Christmas holiday. According to the National Weather
Service’s Bismarck office, cities throughout McLean County received between 9 and 10 inches of snow between Saturday and Monday, with more snowfall in the northern part of the county. Max tallied 10 inches by 8 a.m. Monday, as did Underwood. Surrounding cities including Garrison, Washburn and Turtle Lake reported between 8 and 9.5 inches of
snow over the weekend. The most snowfall was seen in Jamestown, which accumulated just short of 23 inches over the course of the three days. Weather on the roads Slick and snowy roads lead to some additional calls for service to the McLean County Sheriff’s Department this week. The department responded to a dozen calls for vehicles that were in a ditch or median during or after snowfall this week. Some vehicles experienced damage in the course of leaving the roadway.
