ND teacher retention outlook grim
For the past several years, school districts in North Dakota and across the US have felt the effects of a chronic teacher shortage. While it is true that other professions have experienced similar shortages of qualified employees, a shortage of well-trained, licensed teachers is especially worrisome when one considers that, as a society, we do not do anything more important than educate our future. In fact, it can be said that the majority of North Dakotans do not get to their profession without going through ours.
