Olson, Kerzmann advance

 

Link to face Krebsbach in November

The field for who will be the next McLean County sheriff and who will square off for a seat representing District 1 on the Board of McLean County Commissioners is set.

Though results are unofficial, county voters advanced Lt. Curt Olson and Chief Deputy JR Kerzmann for sheriff. Doug Krebsbach and Pam Link, who now fills the District 1 chair in Washburn, will meet in the General Election Nov. 4.

Kerzmann received 898 votes, or 33.82 percent of the vote, while Olson picked up 844 votes, or 31.79 percent of the vote. Former deputy Rick Schwalk received 602 votes, 22.67 percent, while Deputy Richard Johnson, county E-911 coordinator, came in a distant fourth with 308 votes, or 11.60 percent. There were three write-ins.

In the District 1 commission race, Krebsbach walked away with nearly half of all votes, 46.85 percent. Link was a distant second with 706 votes, or 27.94 percent. Former county agent Pat Carpentier garnered 634 votes, or 25.09 percent. There were three write-ins.
