Ordination ceremony marks new chapter for church
Chrissy Lyle grew up Catholic, so she always had a strong sense of religion from an early age -but something just it just didn't sit right with her. "Questions were not very welcomed, so when I was 19, I left the church,” Lyle said. “I spent the next 15 years or so seeking out my path.” That path came to fruition Sunday morning when she was ordained at Garrison's First Congregational Church.
Early years
“I studied Buddhism during those years, and that helped me realize my responsibilities to myself and God,” Lyle explained. “Buddhism really brings to light the importance of our own thoughts and intentions. But my journey also took me through some darkness, which eventually led me back to Garrison.”
