Plans revealed for business expansion

Plans revealed for business expansion

By CHERYL ODDEN

The face of Max’s business district changed last week when the Max Café building was moved to the east end of Main Street.
Moving the business from its former location, just a few blocks north, made it possible for another local business to expand.
Dan Haugen, general manager of Max Farm Services, shared details of the local co-op’s plans. Haugen noted that the co-op will be expanding its retail operation at the site that formerly housed the café and DJ’s Centennial Lounge. (The two businesses were located in the same structure. The lounge closed July 2 after Max Farm Services purchased the lounge portion of the business from Dave and Judy Songstad. As part of the agreement between Max Farm Services and café owners Warren and Kathy Huettl, the Huettls now own the entire building).
Haugen noted that adjoining property on the north side of the site was purchased from Mark and Lori Zaderaka. When all transactions were finalized, Max Farm Services had room (approximately 10 lots) to expand its business.
