Pool tops list of priorities

Park Board reviews community survey

Pools, playgrounds and walking trails -- that’s what topped the list of valuable programs according to a community survey conducted this winter.
The Garrison Park Board reviewed the results of the survey, which was open from November to February, during its meeting March 10.
“Pool usage and swimming lessons were top priority for respondents,” Heidi Smith said.
In total, nearly two-thirds of respondents voted for swimming lessons and playgrounds as being most valuable, with roughly half voting for walking trails.
Also voted as most valuable by the 66 survey respondents was the skating rink, picnic shelter and baseball program.
