Public invited to tour ‘The Meadows’

Public invited to tour ‘The Meadows’

Area residents have heard a lot about “The Meadows,” an assisted living center that is being built in Garrison.
Several years ago, a group of supporters “hoped” for such a facility. They formed an organization, Better Living for Garrison (BLFG) and set its first goal – an assisted living facility. They later embarked on a fundraising campaign to help make such a facility a reality.
Then, after a series of setbacks, ground was finally broken last fall.
Over the past several months, the public has watched the project site change from a patch of dirt to a large enclosed structure.
And, while most people could only observe the progress from a distance, they are now being offered a chance to take a close-up look.
Next week, the public is invited to tour the facility. Mark Meyer, site manager for Helsenke Design Group, the Fargo-Moorhead firm that designed The Meadows, will provide the guided tours.
Even though the event is touted as a “dusty shoe tour,” the entire tour route will be on concrete.
On Friday, May 15, the public is invited to tour The Meadows. Tours will last 15-20 minutes and will be available from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the tours.
