RIP to the penny
“A penny saved is a penny earned.”
But soon there won’t be any new pennies to save.
The last new penny ever was minted Wednesday, Nov. 12, in Philadelphia.
“We will have pennies available until we cannot get them anymore from the Bank of North Dakota,” BNC Bank Branch Manager Tod Graeber said. “Retailers will have to find a way to round up and down to make their prices come out. The pennies we have will only be available to our retail customers.”
