Scheresky leads the pack

“I have loved racing and have wanted to race ever since I was a kid,” 22-year-old Will Scheresky said.
Even before he graduated from Max High School in 2016 he starting racing.
“I started enduro racing in 2014. Did that until 2018. Last year was my rookie year in the stock car,” Scheresky said.
Now he drives an IMCA Stock Car, which is a nationwide class of racing.
“I suppose I am a thrill seeker in everyday life. I have always enjoyed anything action packed or anything that will give you an adrenaline rush,” Scheresky said.
He showed up to race June 14 like any other day. But he had no idea what was to come.
“It was kind of a dream come true race, I didn’t really expect to win a race in Minot anytime soon, let alone this year. I’m not running even close to the equipment that these other guys have,” Scheresky said.
The competition at the NoDak Speedway in Minot is the premiere track in North Dakota so the competition there is the toughest.
“It’s the best of the best,” he said.
The evening of June 14 Scheresky was battling Mike Hagen and Dalton Flory the majority of the race.
Hagen had won the race on opening night and came out strong and paced the field upfront.
“I could see Dalton inside of me as we came out of turn two after the white flag so I knew he used up a lot of momentum trying to pass me there and after that it was basically my race to lose, so I knew if I got through three and four smooth, I’d have it,” Scheresky said.
