The wheels came to a screeching halt.
At the recommendation of the Building and Grounds Committee, Garrison School Board members agreed now is not the time to move forward with expansion projects at the high school and elementary school.
Huddling Monday with Wayne Whitty of Anderson, Wade & Whitty, Architects, Minot, Building and Grounds Committee members scoured over three high school options and two elementary proposals.
Present were maintenance supervisor Doug Gienger, committee members Steve Seidler, Bonnie Nygard and Karla Scheresky, Superintendent Steve Brannan and Whitty.
Tuesday night, the final choices for each were presented to the full board. The estimated cost for both projects would be approximately $8 million. After sleeping on it, committee members agreed, now is not a good time to proceed.
