A survey issued by Garrison Public Schools is gauging opinions from the community on future construction projects at the schools.
In a post made on the Garrison Public School’s Facebook page last Thursday, the purpose of the survey “is to garner input from the community in order to assist in providing a direction to the board in possible next steps for our district’s needs.”
The survey offers three options: adding a wood floor to the gymnasium at Bob Callies Elementary School, building a new gymnasium attached to the Garrison High School, or keeping things as is “and proceed forward to see what the future holds.”
“We know it’s a need, but what that need truly is is whatever is palpable to the community,” said Nick Klemisch, Garrison superintendent of schools.
Improvements on the schools isn’t exactly a new project, as over $5 million in improvements have been done throughout the schools over the past four years.
“From a building standpoint, we’ve done a nice job,” Klemisch said. He added that these have been done through grants and a loan against the school’s building fund.
