State Park busy

State Park busy

By CHERYL ODDEN

“It’s been a wild, wild spring and it looks like its going to continue into summer.”
That’s the word from Dick Messerly, manager of Fort Stevenson State Park.
About two weeks ago, dikes were built around the concession building at the Garrison Marina and to protect several lift stations.
The work was completed due to a projected rise of Lake Sakakawea to 1856 msl that was forecast for early June. Fortunately, the lake remained well below the predicted level and the dikes have remained dry – at least between rain showers.
