President Joe Biden has approved a disaster declaration for the state of North Dakota in the wake of winter storms which struck the state this spring. The declaration acknowledges “a major disaster exists in the State of North Dakota and ordered Federal assistance to supplement State, tribal and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by a severe winter storm and flooding during the period of April 22 to May 25, 2022,” a
statement on the President’s website said. “North Dakota saw unprecedented levels of precipitation this spring in the forms of heavy downpours, snowfall, sleet and freezing rain,” a delegation which included Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer and Congressman Kelly Armstrong said following Biden’s announcement.
