Steady increase seen at food pantry

GARRISON — Just before the end of the year, the Garrison Area Resource Center held their last food pantry distribution for 2022.
During the four hours of distribution, which included the food distribution through a partnership with Gifts from the Heart, 147 families went through the line. Most of the time, the line wrapped around the block – up the alley and rounding the corner by Garrison City Hall.
“We’ve had it loop around the block before,” said food pantry coordinator Dawn Kolden, adding that the line was indicative of the need and that if they were out in such cold weather, help was definitely needed.
