Supt. Windish says goodbye

BY HUNTER L. ANDES
After four years at Max Public School, Supt. Pat Windish will be leaving the Max School District. His last day with the district will be June 30.
At the last regular meeting of the Max school board, Windish asked if he could be released from his two-year contract, of which he has served one year. After discussion, a roll call vote was taken, and each board member voted in favor of Windish’s request.
Last year at this time Windish signed a two-year contract; however, school board president Ron Kramer noted before the vote that he feels the board should grant Windish’s contract release request based upon Windish’s extraordinary circumstances.
“What I consider extraordinary circumstance is he is away from his wife who has health problems,” Kramer said. “He has been nothing but good to this school during his time here, so I feel like we should repay the favor in his time of need.”
Windish told the board that he is truly going to miss Max.
