Three elected to Garrison School Board

Three elected to Garrison School Board

By STU MERRY

One new member has been elected to the Garrison School Board, while two others were elected to new terms following Tuesday’s board election.
Joining the board is Carl Young. Lora Wilson and Chris Seidler are present board members. Ninety-one ballots were cast.
Though he was the lone candidate to file for his position, Young found himself locked in a close race. He received 39 votes, while write-in candidate Ward Heinzen picked up 34. There were scattered write-in votes.
Wilson received 83 votes with other random write-ins, while Seidler also saw 83 ballots cast her way.
Young fills a three-year term as member-at-large. Janis Sloka, who presently holds the position, did not seek re-election.
