Towers and residential lots approved at county commission meeting

Meteorological towers and subdivision plats were discussed and approved by the McLean County Commissioners at their meeting Tuesday morning. Requests from Discovery Wind LLC to erect two 197-foot meteorological towers – one northeast of Washburn and another north of Wilton – with the purpose of measuring the wind resource in the area were approved. According to the permit application, Discovery Wind hopes to install “as many as six of these throughout the county in the next few months.”
