Troopers bounce back with homecoming sweep
The Garrison Troopers responded to a difficult start to the week by earning a straight-set victory during their homecoming celebration.
Garrison played a pair of home matches, opening against Central McLean Tuesday, Sept. 15, before hosting Mandaree Thursday, Sept. 17.
The Troopers faced one of the top teams in District 8 in their first contest. Central McLean entered the week unbeaten in district play and continued its strong start by handing Garrison a 3-0 loss.
Although the Troopers were unable to take a set from the Cougars, they had an opportunity to quickly turn their attention toward another opponent.
Garrison returned to the court two days later against Mandaree and delivered a much different result. The Troopers swept the Warriors 3-0, earning their first victory in regional competition and closing the week on a positive note.
