G A R R I S O N – W i t h temperatures in the thirties and forties last weekend, the Dickens Village Festival kicked off with warm weather and a very warm reception from festival goers. “I think things went really well,” said Amber Klingbeil, director of the Garrison
Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We had the same numbers you would expect (for the first weekend).” Klingbeil added the weather
cooperated in making excellent conditions for festival goers. In addition to bus tokens for the Queen Elizabus selling out by 3 p.m. each day, Hazen-raised musicians Tigirlily performed a sold-out show at the KOTA Theater on Saturday afternoon. This coming weekend, the
Dickens Village Festival will include the annual fruitcake toss, which will start Saturday at 12 p.m. on 1st Avenue Northwest, between Nordak North Publishing and Evangel. Signup for the event will be at the side door at Evangel, starting at 10 a.m. The weekend will also include four different opportunities to take in entertainment at the KOTA Theater.
