Unknow Service Line Material notices went out
During the Garrison City Council meeting on Monday, May 5, City Auditor Diane Affeldt informed the council of the letter the was sent to residents of Garrison regarding the city’s water pipes.
Patrons of Garrison Rural Water received a similar letter a few weeks ago.
The letter stated the city water pipes (service lines) have not been identified and are currently made of an unknow material that may contain lead.
These pipes connect the main waterline to interior plumbing in households and businesses.
Garrison is currently working on trying to identify service lines throughout the city and working on a lead line replacement program.
