By STU MERRY

One man who was thought to have ties to the White Shield area is in custody, while another remains at large.

Monday afternoon, the man accused of shooting his wife at her apartment in Minot earlier this month was arrested.

Thirty-six-year-old Joseph "Joey" Barnes Jr. was arrested in Minot on an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault. The woman was hospitalized several days following the shooting.

According to authorities, the arrest came during a traffic stop at about 1:50 p.m., after Barnes was spotted getting into a vehicle.

Barnes was the target of two manhunts in McLean County last week.
