Washburn’s high school team dominated at the McLean County Acalympics Tuesday in Garrison, tallying 41 points to take top honors, with Max a distant second with 29 points and Garrison in third place with 28.
In the junior high division, Max and Garrison tied for first place – no scores were available.
Students from across the county gathered Tuesday in Garrison to test themselves in the annual academic competition, answering questions in math, science, social studies, current events, general knowledge, and language arts, with the high school division having a "lightning round" to cap the event which students could actually lose a point for an incorrect or misspelled answer.
