Write-in ballots popular

By STU MERRY

It’s plain to see, McLean County voters like the vote-by-mail process. Nearly 1/3rd have or will cast their ballot before the polls even open at 7 a.m., in Tuesday’s General Election.
According to county officials, there are 7,988 eligible voters in McLean County. Officials have sent 2,997 ballots to voters. Already, 2,063 are returned with 934 yet to come in.
These numbers are similar to those from the 2012 presidential election, when 2,842 absentee ballots were cast. A total of 4,938 ballots were counted from McLean County during that election.
