Zoning hearing scheduled

Wonder no more.
Dollar General is inching forward on building east of McLean Electric Cooperative.
George and Bernice Schlichting with AAB Engineering, the firm representing Dollar General filed for zoning change of 1.72 acres.
There will be a hearing at 5 p.m. March 20 to consider the request to rezone land from agriculture to retail business district.
Council members Monday night briefly reviewed the zoning request, but took no action because they won't be called to make a decision until after March 20.
Council member Glen Nygard expressed disappointment that the request is for 1.72 acres instead of the entire land of approximately 100 acres from McLean Electric to the road east near the cemetery.
